THE MUPPETS HAUNTED MANSION (2021) - Jim Henson Company & Disney+ -Limited Special

“The Muppets Haunted Mansion" is a television special released on Disney+ in October 2021. The special is a Halloween-themed parody of Disney's "The Haunted Mansion" attraction and features the beloved Muppet characters on a spooky adventure through a haunted mansion.

The goal as graphic designer was to maintain brand integrity of the classic Disney & Muppet visuals that audiences know and love, while introducing new and exciting elements exclusive to this limited special experience.

The graphic design process behind this production involved a combination of practical set elements, digital artistry, and cutting-edge virtual production technology. One of the most striking aspects of the special’s design was the use of ARwall technology, which allowed for the creation of immersive, real-time virtual sets. The design process was heavily influenced by XR filmmaking techniques, specifically using ARwall’s Cuboid, a virtual stage with LED panels that served as the primary tool for compositing live-action elements with digital backdrops.
